How to form a morning routine: “Miracle morning” by Hal Elrod
If you follow me on Instagram @katiejensonhullnutrition you will know that my morning routine is crucial to my day. A well-created morning will quite literally set you up for the best day possible.
My love for getting my head in gear before 7 am came from early motherhood when this was the only time I had to myself. To nourish, cherish, and feed my mind and soul. Now almost 10 years on I have a fine-tuned routine that I love. It helps me to be the best person possible to all the people that need me.
Key aspects
If you are new to creating a morning routine and interested in personal development but don’t know where to start, this book is for you. An effective morning routine can help you to feel more energised, less stressed, healthier, and more productive. Hal tells you how to use the life S.A.V.E.R.S, as he calls them, to create a miracle morning.
S.A.V.E.R.S. is an acronym for six practices that Hal believes are essential for personal development. These are:
Silence (meditation)
Affirmations
Visualization
Exercise
Reading
Scribing (journaling)
Each area is explored and practical tips are offered and inspiration is provided as to how to incorporate them into your daily routine. This book is inspiraing and engaging. Emphasis is placed on starting the day with intention and purpose.

Would I recommend this book?
This book is both motivational and accessible. Elrod shares his own personal story of overcoming adversity after a near-fatal car accident. Some may find the prescribed routine challenging to implement, however, with repetition the practical advice is easy to follow. The routine is a simple yet powerful way to start your day positively. It helped me to get into my morning routine groove all those years ago.
Overall, I would say that this book is for anyone interested in personal growth and establishing a more productive and intentional daily routine. The Miracle Morning is uplifting and a great inspiration for those looking to make their mornings count.
